Afternoon Tea Party Ideas💐

Now that Spring is underway and our attention can finally turn to putting on some belated events this summer, here is a list of celebrations that always lend themselves to the quintessential tradition that is Afternoon Tea!

BABY SHOWERS - Typically an afternoon tea for a baby shower would begin at 2pm. At this time of day, you might wish to serve mini sandwiches or hot hors d’ouevres alongside cupcakes and desserts. You could decorate with bunting and accessories in pastel colours with matching crockery to match your colour theme and add pretty jars of fresh flowers for the finishing touch!

BRIDAL SHOWERS - Similarly a 2pm start, with an emphasis on finger food such as crudities and dips, cheese with crackers and salad or fruit. Of course, you will be wanting to indulge in the sweet things too, so mini profiteroles or meringue nests with chocolate dipped strawberries can make a welcome addition to your table. If you’re really pushing the boat out, don’t forget the pink champagne or Prosecco , served in our gorgeous vintage champagne coupes to really impress your guests!

BIRTHDAY PARTIES - The perfect way to celebrate a birthday with family and friends. Often my clients will throw a surprise party for a very lucky recipient with a Traditional Afternoon Tea of finger sandwiches, homemade scones with clotted cream and strawberry preserve together with cakes such as Victoria sponge or lemon drizzle. A selection of teas can also be offered with English Breakfast and Earl Grey being particular favourites. Whether in the garden or under the cover of a marquee, a traditional afternoon tea is guaranteed to be a firm favourite with all age ranges!
